1.  Power walk with dumbbells-The treadmill is still one of your best options when it comes to cardio machines. Unlike the elliptical, treadmills don’t lock your feet into pedals or footpads and don’t force your legs into movements they don’t like. Treadmill intervals are great for fat loss but eventually those can get redundant and you can use something fresh. Grab a pair of dumbbells and hold them down on your sides ( like a farmers carry ) and simply power walk the treadmill with a steep incline and moderate speed. A solid 20-30 minutes will work just fine.

2. Stairway-to-pain Intervals-Say hello to the step-mill. No not the stairmaster – but the stair-treadmill that’s like a miniature escalator.  Try not to touch those handrails, they’re for rest periods and emergencies only. Set the thing for five minutes, do one minute of easy climbing, and then bring it up to a speed you can just barely handle for twenty seconds. Then grab the handrails and step off, straddling the moving stairs for a quick ten-second break. Repeat that work-rest interval for six to eight cycles. If you want to make this harder then you can grab some dumbbells and hold them like number one.

3. Jump rope-Jumping rope can be done anywhere and and you don’t need a gym membership. Try doing 30 seconds of all out work and then rest for 1 minute. Repeat for 10 rounds.
